How often should I change the filter on my furnace?

Once a month to once a year minimum depending on the type of filter being used and the indoor air quality. Robinson Heating & Cooling can provide you with different options for your air filtration and indoor air quality needs.

How often should I have preventative maintenance done on my heating and cooling equipment?

Once per year. There are certain components on your heating and cooling equipment that should be checked and cleaned annually to ensure safe, efficient and proper operation. Robinson Heating & Cooling offers preventative maintenance services including our no hassle Energy Savings Agreement program.

Should I have a programmable thermostat and what should I be setting the temperature back to during the hours of setback?

Programmable thermostats are highly recommended to save energy costs. As a rule of thumb, setback should be no more than 5 – 7 degrees because it can cost more in energy to try and recover a large temperature differential. Robinson Heating & Cooling can provide options for different types of programmable thermostats including Wi-Fi enabled to meet your needs.

Why do I have condensation on my windows during the winter months?

Condensation can be caused by a few different things. Temperature difference on the glass between the indoor and outdoor will cause condensation. High humidity in the home will also cause condensation as well as lack of ventilation in the home. How do I know when it is time to replace my heating and cooling equipment?

Typical life expectancy for your heating & cooling equipment is 15-20 years old.
